Real Strength premiered on Sunday featuring Challenge Aspen.

The premier episode of “Real Strength” cuts straight to the heart of the show’s mission. It features coaches, volunteers and athletes from the competitive division of Challenge Aspen, some of which are wounded warriors from their C.A.M.O. program that helps disabled veterans realize their life potential, bridging the gap between injuries and moving forward with life’s challenges despite adversity. Moving from the gym to the slopes, Shore sees Challenge Aspen’s strength in action working with the unique challenges that go into coaching athletes with disabilities and how they excel in unimaginable ways.  To learn more about the episode and watch the pilot episode click here: http://www.halogentv.com/realstrength/

It was such an honor to work with Challenge Aspen on this pilot episode.  It really helps to spread the vision of Real Strength.   Get ready for an exciting season that will take us across the country as I introduce you to some amazing men and women who are using their strength to give back in unique and challenging ways on boards, bikes, mountains, courts, arenas, fields, water and slopes.

I had the amazing opportunity to work on a Habitat for Humanity project in Brooklyn this weekend.  This is a unique and historical project for Habitat for a couple of reasons.  It’s the largest single family home build ever completed, and it’s the greenest for Habitat with  LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environ-mental Design) standards. Energy-efficient building methods will enable future Habitat homeowners to save up to 30 percent on their energy bills.

I spent the day squatting and lunging adjusting door frames throughout one of the buildings.  Functional training for a cause.
